On June 30, President Xi Jinping, accompanied by Chief Executive Carrie Lam, visited the Hong Kong Science Park. The motorcade carrying President Xi Jinping arrived at the site at around 5 pm. During the visit, Xi Jinping visited the "Hong Kong Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases", which is on the list of R&D laboratories of the "InnOHK Innovation Hong Kong R&D Platform". The center's director, Nancy Ip, introduced the center's interdisciplinary research team, which is committed to promoting research on neurodegenerative diseases and the transformation of scientific research results to accurately diagnose Alzheimer's disease, thereby achieving early screening and treatment. Xi Jinping also delivered a speech to more than 30 representatives of Hong Kong scientific researchers and young entrepreneurs present, encouraging scientific researchers, industry and young people, reflecting his importance and recognition of Hong Kong's innovation and technology, and his expectation for Hong Kong to contribute to the country's scientific and technological development. Attendees included academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in Hong Kong, young scientists and R&D personnel, and representatives of innovative technology companies.
